Huma has been passionate about Urdu language from a very young age. Having participated in many poetic competitions as well as Urdu speech competitions, her love and bond for Urdu became inseparable.

Since moving from Pakistan to Canada some 20 years ago, she did not realize the missing component abroad until she had kids of her own. She sought out resources to teach Urdu to her kids, however, to her surprise, there were very limited and mostly utilizing roman Urdu. It is at that time she realized, she had to become the ambassador of Urdu language for kids in the West and embarked on a personal mission!

She has since published numerous educational books to teach Urdu to kids and adults living abroad, away from Pakistan. Apart from teaching her own children how to read, write and speak Urdu; she has also taught numerous other kids and adults within her community with astonishing results.

She is an avid believer in starting from the basics than using "roman Urdu". Through her research and results after teaching many students, she has concluded and made the following similitude: roman Urdu is like fishing a fish for a hungry, and teaching Urdu from Urdu's original alphabets is like teaching a hungry how to fish for themselves. A building based on solid foundation never falls however a temporary illusion of success as in the case with roman Urdu is bound to fail in the long run.

She has now used all her knowledge to design, structure and formulate her courses and coaching programs to reach a larger audience keeping in mind the challenges Pakistanis face in their Urdu learning or teaching Urdu to their kids while living outside Pakistan.

She is also a certified Urdu/Punjabi translator for law enforcement in Canada.
